Obituary for Butch Lugo
Ambrosio “Butch” Lugo of Luling went with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 11, 2021 at the age of 78. He was a devoted member of St. John Catholic Church.
He was born in Gonzales, TX on December 07, 1942 to Frances and Isaac Lugo.
Butch leaves behind 14 children to cherish his beautiful memory. Michael Lugo, Mark Lugo, Morris Lugo, Melissa Lugo, Michelle Lugo, Christina Angeles (Rodolfo), Jason Rios(Candace), Gabriel Rios (Melissa), Jessica Rios (Kevin), Frances Rios, Stella Contreras(Donnie), Ambrosio Lugo JR, Destiny Lugo, Diamond Lugo. Two Step Daughters Teresa Rios and Joann Rios
In addition he is survived by brother Joe Lugo (Amy) and Sisters Connie DuBose (Bobby), Della Salazar, Tina Conley (George), Rachel Mikesh (Paul)
He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother Albert “Beto” Lugo, and Sister Betty Lopez. As well as Sylvia Ann Cortinas and Marie Rios.
Butch was the Owner of Lugo Masonry for over 50 years. He was a very hard worker and a great provider for his family. His legacy will live on and along with the many hearts he helped and touched. If you knew Butch you had a friend for life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when he could. If you ever had the chance to sit and talk with him I am sure you left with a smile on your face and great story to repeat. Butch created many beautiful things with his hands, he had a talent that many where amazed by and this is what everyone that he worked for loved about him. All these beautiful homes that he touched are little mementos that his family and friends always will have to remember him by.
The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 7 PM Tuesday February 23 in the O’Bannon Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at St John Catholic Church at 2 PM Wednesday February 24 with Rev. Howard Goertz officiating. Burial will be at Slayden Cemetery CR 232 Gonzales, TX 78629. Serving as Pallbearers will be Garvin Mikesh, Randall Mikesh, Thomas Flores, Keith Conley, DJ Lugo, and Clay Pivoda. Honorary Pallbearers included Jason Rios, Gabriel Rios, Issac Rios and Christopher Caad.
Due to current CDC, State and local mandates, protective measures regarding social distancing, limited attendance capacity, and use of personal protective mask will be required for the visitation, mass and gravesite burial rite. Those remotely symptomatic of the Coivd-19 are politely asked not to attend. Services are under the care and direction of O’Bannon Funeral Home.
