Obituary for Bettie Jean Cleveland (Whitley)
Mrs. Bettie Whitley Cleveland, age 90, of Fentress Tx, passed away Friday morning, January 10, 2020.
She was born October 5, 1929, in El Dorado, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Cecil and Trennie Mulvaney Whitley.
Bettie was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Louis Frank Cleveland; two brothers, Benny Whitley, and Bobby Whitley; one sister, Patsy Whitley.
She was a member of Prairie Lea Baptist Church, Vice President of the Bank, and a mother and grandmother to all. She enjoyed volunteering at her church, baking, fishing on the riverbank, and spending time with her family.
Bettie is survived by her son Bill Cleveland and wife Kayce of Fentress, daughter Kay Fischer of Fentress. Granddaughter Courtney Shelton and Husband Karl of New Braunfels, grandson Tyler Cleveland and wife Carrie of New Braunfels. Brother Jerry Whitley and wife Connie of Georgetown; and two great grandsons Christopher Cleveland and Easton Shelton. She also leaves many other family members and friends that will greatly miss her.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2020, at Prairie Lea Baptist Church, with Brother Joel Densman officiating. Burial will follow in the Fentress Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Prairie Lea Baptist Church in her honor.
Bettie’s family will serve as the pallbearers.
