Obituary for Cira Chapa Fernandez
Cira Chapa Fernandez passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, September 4, 2023 at a local hospital. Cira was 82 years old.
Cira was born on June 18, 1941 in Fentress, TX to Benancio Chapa & Aurelia Lopez Chapa.
Cira was united in marriage to Eliseo Fernandez, Jr on December 26, 1955. Their marriage became a family of eight, with the birth of their six children.
Her husband, Eliseo Fernandez, Jr., passed away June 26, 1995 from a massive heart attack.
Cira continued her journey through life as a widow and adapted to life as a single person with the help and comfort of family and friends, especially from her youngest daughter, Nickey. Cira’s daughters, Alvara, and Annette, were also accommodating to their mother, Cira.
Cira was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant all her adult life, and in retail the remainder of her years of employment until her retirement.
Cira is survived by her six children, Eliseo III “Lee”, Fidel, Alvara, Annette, Mark, and Nickey: along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A private family interment of her ashes will be at the Luling Community Cemetery at a future date.
