David Wendt Gieser, age 82, died March 3, 2022 in Luling, Texas. David was born on January 3, 1940 in Jackson, Minnesota, to Walter George and Clara Wendt Gieser. He graduated from Fairmont High school in 1958, and then enlisted into the Air Force in 1959.On April 14, 1970 David then married the love of his life, Mary Lou West. David retired from the Air Force in 1981 after 22 years of decorated service and he moved his family to Luling Texas where his wife’s family was settled.
In 1983 David then opened his own insurance office, Gieser Insurance Agency, and in 1991 his daughter Lisa joined him and he later retired after 19 years in 2002.David loved Luling and was very active in his community. David served on many, many boards for 41 years, tirelessly giving his time and talents serving this community, including LAMA, Luling Senior Citzens, Jennings Retirement, and Luling Lions Club.David was a founding memberof Trinity Lutheran Church. David loved to serve and be active.
David was a foodie and he loved to BBQ, He also did woodworking and loved shooting guns. He loved cooking and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Clara Gieser. He is survived by his 2 sisters, Judy (Norman) Meyer of Sioux Falls, SD, and Barbara Wippich of Liberty, MO. , his loving wife, Mary Lou Gieser of Luling, a son Anthony Gieser of Denver, Colorado, a son William(Jean) Gieser of Seguin, TX and a daughter Lisa Gieser Gaspard of Luling, TX: 6 grandchildren: 6 great grand children, and a host of other relatives and special friends. Pallbearers are Rick Carter, Sam Eccles, Dustin Gieser, Garret Gieser, Tom Harmon and Larry Shirley.
