Obituary for Dewey Creston Lightsey

Dewey Creston Lightsey (1936-
2023): Born of Johnnie Marie
Lightsey (Wright) and Roy
Frederick Lightsey in the small
town of De Kalb, Texas.
Gradua􀆟ng from Luling High
School in 1954, he went on to the
University of Texas at Aus􀆟n, and
later to Southwest Texas State
University in San Marcos.
Engineering was his first academic
love, and studying Eschatology
was his second. Dewey was as sharp as
a tack even un􀆟l the end, and keenly knew of his impending and rapidly arriving mee􀆟ng with our Lord. He
was happiest working on his recently printed book, “The Esoteric Eschatology of Man.” This book took him
nearly 40+ years to write, and finally, finally, finally it was collated together this summer and printed in
September; and to the delight in his eye, this was his final epitaph to this World. There are many stories to
tell of this man, but books and books cannot contain the life that he had. He held in there as anyone could
and died of simply…‘old age’ in Fredericksburg, Texas. This man will be missed, thought of, and the valued
􀆟me with him will be relished. He was a beloved brother, son, father, and friend. He has one surviving brother
Kenneth Erwin Lightsey, and two surviving sons John Creston Lightsey and Ross Frederick Lightsey, Senior, as
well as four grandchildren: Christopher David Osborne, Lauren EF Niles (Lightsey), Leanne Lynn Lightsey, and
Ross Frederick Lightsey, Junior. He also had a beloved and most-trusted daughter-in-law, Dr. April Joy Lightsey.
Actually, he trusted her more so than anyone else. Nevertheless, we all have gleaned quite a bit of wisdom
from this loving and caring man who walked the Earth for 87 years.
