Obituary for Elvira Cortinas Erdman (Cortinas)

On the evening of March 09, 2021, Elvira “Vera” Erdman passed away peacefully in her home after her battle with cancer. Vera was visited and comforted by family at the time of her passing. Vera was 84 years old.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Alvina Cortinas, her former husband Edward Hayes, son Ronald Hayes, daughter Sharon Hayes, her former husband Robert Erdman and her brother Joe Cortinas.
She is survived by her sons Robert Erdman and his wife Ava, Patrick Erdman, and Devan Erdman; grandchildren David Young, Kelley Cunningham, Ronald Cunningham, Kimberly Bocanegra, Carissa Erdman, and Jonathan Erdman; great-grandchildren Dylan, Jude, and Tessa; sisters Petra Guerrero and her husband Eligio, Irene Cuellar, and Nora Gonzales (wife of late husband Jesse), and brother Anastacio Cortinas and his wife Mary; and several nieces, nephew, and cousins whom she loved deeply.

Vera will be missed greatly as she had a beautiful, sweet, and loving spirit. She was gracious and kind to all who knew her.

Viewing will be held at O’Bannon Funeral Home (210 S Laurel Ave, Luling, TX 78648) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at the Community Cemetery in Luling.
Flowers may be sent to the family at O’Bannon Funeral Home or in lieu of flowers, you can make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) in her honor.
