Obituary for Ethel Lee Thomas (Schuster)

Ethel Thomas (Schuster) of Luling, Texas, joined our Heavenly Father on January 10, 2024. Ethel was born in Helena, Texas in 1937, to Viola and Fred Schuster. Ethel had 4 sisters (Alice McMahon, Etta Mae Burton, Frances Gonzales, and Doris Long) and 5 brothers ( Fred, Milas, Robert, Charles, and William Schuster). Being raised by a large family provided her with countless fond memories she enjoyed sharing with her children and grandchildren.

Ethel and William were married on April 16, 1954. They shared 36 years together as they raised their family in Luling, Texas. Ethel devoted 25+ years to working at Citizens State Bank in Luling. She fondly enjoyed her time working at Citizens, and was where she made many lasting friendships. She also attended the Church of the Annunciation, and held her relationship with God in the highest regard. She was a God fearing woman that guided us with grace and dignity, setting the perfect example that faith and family comes first. She had a loving spirit, and a kind, gracious heart.

To her family: our birthdays will never be the same because she made sure to never miss a single one. She loved everyone dearly. We couldn't have asked for a better parent, grandparent, sibling, or family member. She left behind a beautiful legacy of strength and grace.

Ethel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Earl Thomas, and her loving son, Arnold Keith Thomas. She is survived by her sister, Frances Gonzales of Oklahoma, as well as, her beautiful children: Speedy Thomas (Sylvia), Kathy Smith, Johnny Thomas (Loretta), Randy Thomas (Connie), and Brenda Brown (Kenneth).
