Evangelina Gonzales Alvarez
Evangelina Gonzales Alvarez, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. She was born on March 12, 1932 in Fentress, Texas to Ynocencio and Hortencia Gonzales. She is preceded in death by her husband Jose Rosario Alvarez whom she married on January 25, 1959. Evangelina is survived by her two daughters Norma Alvarez White of Luling, Debra Alvarez Lopez and her husband Agustin of Magnolia; and only grandchild Maxim Manolo Lopez. She is also survived by her sisters Lupe Gonzales Contreras and husband Larry of San Marcos and Josie Gonzales Islas of San Marcos; and many nieces and nephews. Evangelina is preceded in death by her parents Ynocencio and Hortencia Gonzales, sister Dora Gonzales, brother Abel Gonzales and son-in-law Ronnie White.
Her family will receive visitors at O’Bannon Funeral Home in Luling on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with recitation of the holy Rosary at 11:00 a.m. Mass of Catholic Burial will take place at St. John’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the San Juan Cemetery in Prairie Lea.
