Obituary for Haroldean Lucas Watts (Brewer)
Haroldean Lucas Watts, 90 of Luling, Texas went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2023. She was born May 5, 1932 in Gander Slough to John Harold & Verna Mae Bell Brewer. Haroldean graduated from Luling High School in 1949. On April 22, 1950 she married Worth O. Lucas in Austin, Texas. They were blessed with 4 children. Worth passed away on December 18, 1998. On July 2, 2009 she married her high school sweetheart Willie Joe Watts, Sr. in Louise, Texas. Willie Joe and Haroldean enjoyed almost 14 years of marriage and companionship filled with raising watermelons, building cowhide benches and enjoying pasture picnics.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Joe Watts, Sr. as well as sons, Worth Owen Lucas, Jr. & wife Dottie of Van Vleck, Texas, and John Elery Lucas & wife Edith of Gonzales, Texas; daughter-in-law Robin Webb Lucas of Luling, Texas; daughter, Brenda Joyce Barker of Lockhart, Texas; step-daughter Lynette & husband Jerry Dry of Hickory, Kentucky; step-son, Ronnie Via & wife Karen of Sealy, Texas; and step-daughter Audra & husband Billy Holifield of Luling, Texas. She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren & 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Worth O. Lucas, Sr.; son, James Harold Lucas; step-son, Willie Joe Watts, Jr.; and son-in-law, Michael Barker.
Pallbearers are Trey Lucas, Josh Lucas, Clayton Lucas, Kenny Dry, and Blake Holifield and Brad Holifield.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 8, 2023, at O’Bannon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 8, 2023, at O’Bannon Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow in the McNeil Cemetery with Rev. Rick DuBroc officiating.
In lieu of the flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Services are under the direction of O’Bannon Funeral Home, 210 S. Laurel, Luling, Texas 78648.
