Obituary for Jack Newton Bodkin Jr.

Jack Bodkin Jr.
July 22, 1960 – December 26, 2020
On December 26, 2020 Jack Bodkin was taken by the heavenly Angels, Heaven has gained a real soldier.
He was a man who spoke his mind and that was very often. He was very vocal, his voice was deep and
rough and could be heard from miles. Some had no idea how to take him but, grew to become good
friends of which he had many of. He was outspoken but, honest and willing to help family, friends and
even some he just met.

In Jacks younger years, he worked in the tomato and watermelon fields. He made decent money hauling
and stacking melons onto trucks. Later, Jack ended up working in the oilfields. He worked his way up and
became "Jack” of all trades". The last few years Jack retired and took his "Jack” of all trades into
repairing lawnmowers and small engines.
Jack married the love of his life, Carolyn Mikesh Bodkin on August 31, 1984. Together they would
become one. Jack was full of life, enjoyed drinking and dancing with family and friends at the local
American Legion. He would invite you to sit and have a beer. Some would say he was rowdy and
stubborn but if you knew him, he was a great man and would give the shirt off of his back for his family
and friends.

He loved his family, Jack was not big on saying "I love you".. but, they always knew. He watched old
westerns, driving out to the coast with family and friends and just sitting around chatting. Sometimes
Jack was a man of few words. There is not enough time, paper or ink to write everything about Jack. Jack
will be missed by many and forgotten by none.
