Obituary for James Glenn Folkes

Glenn Folkes, 83 of Cedar Park, TX went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2021. He was born September 29, 1937 in Kaufman, TX to Rev. James Otis & Lola Beta Folkes. He worked various jobs throughout his life including farm hand, handyman, salesman, RV park manager, instructor, and Computer Engineer. His favorite was as a Computer Engineer working at NASA during the Gemini and Apollo space programs. Most of all, he loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and he shared that love with everyone he met.


He was preceded in death by his second wife, Jean Mae Folkes; his parents, Rev. James Otis & Lola Beta Folkes; his siblings, Betty Jo Folkes, Robert Folkes, Carolyn Macaluso and John David Folkes.

Survivors are his daughter & son-in-law, Beverly & Dan Smith of Chandler, AZ. Sons & daughters-in-law, Robert & Colleen Folkes of Round Rock, TX and Ralph & Amelia Folkes of Pflugerville, TX. His first wife Frances Mathews of Luling, TX and their sons and daughter-in-laws Jerry & Kathi Iserhardt of Houston, TX and Gary & Tracy Iserhardt of Luling, TX. 18 Grandchildren & 13 Great Grandchildren. Sister & brother-in-law, Elizabeth & Orman Gwynn of Robstown, TX. Sister-in-law, Shirley Folkes of Mustang Ridge, TX. As well as 3 nieces & 2 nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday January 9th at McNeil Cemetery, with the Rev. Orman Gwynn officiating.
