Obituary for James Paul McVea

After serving in the Army, Jim returned from his 19 month, 2 week, and four day tour in Vietnam and began a career in air condition and heating system service and design. Over the years, Jim drove stock cars, surfed in a hurricane, walked on a glacier, certified as a private pilot, hunted, played golf, rode in Rolling Thunder in Washington, DC, enjoyed a good glass of red wine… or two, and spent time with his family and friends.

Later in life, Jim became a Master Mason in the Grand Lodge of Texas. This was a continuation of a family tradition. Both his grandfather and father were Freemasons, and his mother was a member of the order of the Eastern Star.

Of his many adventures and accomplishments, Jim is most remembered for his charm, sense of humor, and his ability to light up a room with one of his stories.
