Obituary for Janell Marguerite Webb (Waller)

Janell Waller Webb, 84, of Luling, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Janell was born on March 23, 1937 in Fentress, Texas. She was the second of three daughters born to Robert and Nell Waller.

In 1953 Janell met Brownie Webb and thus their extraordinary love story began. While playing baseball, out of the corner of his eye Brownie caught a glimpse of a little blonde headed girl in the stands. Shortly after, he saw her at the theater and gathered the nerve to ask her for a date. Several years later on August 24, 1956 they were married in the Methodist Church in Fentress, Texas. Sixty-five years of marriage and they were still inseparable.

Janell/Mom/Gran/Gran-Gran was the quintessential matriarch of her family. She found much joy in cooking for her family and doting on Brownie and her family. Janell was an avid sports fan. There was always a ballgame on the tv and she almost never missed one of the kids’ games. She was an active member of the Methodist church and proudly sat on the back pew every Sunday morning. Being Mrs. Brownie Webb, mother to Tommy and Wendy, Gran and Gran-Gran to the children was her most prized role.

Janell was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Nell Waller, sister Marlene Linaweaver, son Tom Brown Webb III and grandson Tom Brown Webb IV.

Janell is survived by her loving husband Tom Brown (Brownie) Webb, Jr., daughter Wendy and Lee Reynolds of Luling. Loving sister Peggy Rader of Luling. Grandchildren Tori Webb of Luling, Walter and Sarah Reynolds of Ellinger and Whitney and Robby Abel of Lockhart. Great grandchildren Madison Schroeder, Morgan Schroeder, Wesley Abel and Dylan Abel.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 3pm at the Luling City Cemetery officiated by Pastor Bill Knobles. Family requests that all in attendance please wear a mask while gathering. Pallbearers are Lee Reynolds, Walter Reynolds, Robby Abel, Todd Varian, Wesley Abel, Trey Bailey, Rone Allen and Hubert Greenlees. Honorary pallbearers are J.E. Stuart, Faybert Nixon, Joe Johnson, Dylan Abel, Johnny Elam and Dickie Bateman.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tom B. Webb IV Scholarship Fund or First United Methodist Church in Luling.
