Obituary for Jerald Ray McCown Sr.

Jerald Ray McCown, age 72 left this world to be with our lord on March 3, 2021 at his home in Luling, Texas.
Jerald was born to Albert and Faye McCown in Robstown, Texas, on March 18, 1948. He was raised in San Patricio, Texas. He graduated from Mathis High School in 1966 and attended Del Mar Tech attaining welding certification. He found his true love Kathy McCown in high school. They married June 29, 1968 in Mathis, Texas. His passion of life was building ranches and cattle operations in various parts of Texas. Jerald made friends everywhere he went. He loved to share the cowboy way of life with others. As a role model for others he took great pride in hard work and a job well done. He was a mentor and teacher to many. Jerald was a devoted Christian and let his light shine for others to see everywhere he went and was a member of Saint Johns Catholic Church in Luling Texas.

Jerald is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathy Ermis McCown, sons Jay McCown and Ward & Stacy McCown. Five grandchildren, one great grandson and a great granddaughter on the way along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers include: Rusty Horne, Ben Soto, Garrett Montgomery DVM, Koby Reitz DVM, George Stein, Steve Natardes, Tim Spears, Carson Royall.
Close friends serving as honorary pallbearers include: Kenny Mitchell, Windy Thompson, Kenneth Eastwood, Jerry Hudson, Alton Williams, Clyde Sommerlatte, Raymond McGaughlin.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 500 E. Travis, Luling, Texas 78648.
