Obituary for Jodie Keith Gaspard

Jodie Keith Gaspard, age 60, died peacefully in the arms of his wife on January 21, 2021 at their home in Luling, TX, after a courageous battle with cancer

Jodie was born on November 3, 1960, in Jennings, Louisiana, to Joyce and Wallace Gaspard. He graduated from Lake Arthur High School, and attended McNeese State University. After many years of working in the oilfield he moved to Luling, Texas in 1991 where he became a Master Electrician, and opened his own business, Cajun Electric. He met and married the love of his life, Lisa Geiser Gaspard, on August 7, 1999 and they made their home in Luling.

Jodie is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Joyce Gaspard, and his sister Cindy Gaspard Durio. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Geiser Gaspard of Luling, TX, a daughter, Lori & Rocky Pendergrass of Willow, MO, and a son, Brandon Zumwalt of Luling, TX. Three brothers, Marvin Gaspard, Robbie Gaspard, and Cody Durio, all of Lake Arthur, LA. He has 3 grandchildren, Kaylee, Rhett and Ensley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides spending time with his family and friends, Jodie was an avid sportsman. He loved hunting and fishing, and he loved to cook and BBQ. He also coached girls softball and boys senior league baseball. Jodie had a smile that could light up a room and loved being around people and having a good time. He was an awesome husband, and father and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Robbie Gaspard, Cody Durio, T-Bob Gaspard, Tristan Gaspard, Lonnie Broussard, & David Shirley.

Family and friends are invited to remember Jodie on Monday, January 25th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at O’Bannon Funeral Home. His services will be held on Tueday, Janaury 26th at 10:00 AM, at O’Bannon Funeral Home with Rev. Will Paradeaux officiating. Graveside Services to follow at the Luling Cemetery.

Due to current CDC, State and local mandates, protective measures regarding social distancing, limited attendance capacity, and use of personal protective masks will be required for the visitation, chapel service and graveside burial rite. Services are under the care and direction of O'Bannon Funeral Home.
