Jose Davila Gonzales, 92 of Luling, Texas went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2024. Born November 8, 1931 in Luling, to Jesus B. & Estella Davila Gonzales. He married Evangelina Cantu on August 7, 1955 in Gonzales, Texas. He worked as a truck driver and instructor.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eva Cantu Gonzales, of Luling. Two daughters, Eva & Julio Torres of Luling, & Esther Palacios & Steve Harshaw of Tomball. Three sons, Joe Eric Gonzales of Luling, Rene Gonzales of New Braunfels, & Harry C. & Vikki Gonzales of Luling. 12 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, & 7 Great Great Grandchildren. One brother, Michael & Rosa Gonzales of Luling. Plus numerous nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Two sisters, Anna Gonzales & Maria Gonzales. Three brothers, Juan Gonzales, Jesse Gonzales, & Manuel Gonzales.

Pallbearers will be Eli Magallanez, Gregorio Ubaldo, Xavier Gonzales, Matthew Gonzales, Roger Mendoza & Eric Palacios. Honorary Pallbearers will be Raul Dimas, Jr., Isaac Renteria, Marcus Magallanez, & Nicolas Gonzales.

The visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday April 11, 2024 at O’Bannon Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Thursday April 11, 2024 at O’Bannon Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday April 12, 2024 at St. John ‘s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Gonzales Memorial Park.
