Obituary for Klayton Wade Manning

Klayton Wade Manning was born April 15, 2002, and was taken from us on June 9th, 2020 while out with his cousin and best friend, Landin Dawson Robinson.

These young men were the heart of Luling and were loved by so many friends and family. Klayton is a recent graduate of Luling High School Class of 2020. He was a volunteer firefighter with the S.E. Caldwell County Fire Department. He was active in football, power lifting, track and field, and was very fond of his pickup truck and his dog Emma Lou.

Surviving Klayton are his parents: Amanda Jill Manning of Luling, Tx, his father Kenneth Wade Manning of Seguin and Misty Mueller Manning of Seguin, Tx. Brothers: Kaeleb Manning of Luling, Tx, Colby Mueller of Gonzales, Tx, Caleb Mueller of Seguin, Tx. Nephew and Niece: Brady Miller of San Antonio, Tx, and Lila Miller of San Antonio, Tx. Grandparents Darrell & Sandra Robinson of Luling, Tx, and John Weigand of Seguin, Tx. Great Grandparents Alton and Jane Bierstedt of Seguin, Tx, and Audrey Robinson of Luling, Tx. Aunts and Uncles: Aunt Tricia Manning and husband Aly of Leander, Tx, Uncle Justin Robinson and wife Jackie of Luling, Tx. Cousins Kaitlyn, Maddison, and Jacey Robinson of Luling, Tx and many more extended family.

Preceding Klayton in death were, Mamaw Sheron Manning of Seguin, Tx, and Grandpa Kenneth Wade Manning Sr. of Austin, Tx, Great Grandparents George and Ann Bryant of Luling, Tx, and Great Uncle Kit Clark of Creedmoor, Tx.

Klayton was best known for his outgoing personality, beaming smile, and bear hugs. Known through Luling as its “Unofficial next Mayor”. Klayton selflessly volunteered with any and every event. He was a true son of Luling.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 17th, 2020 at O'Bannon Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be Thursday, June 18th at 10 a.m. at the Luling Football Stadium, followed by Burial at the Luling Cemetery with full Fire Fighter Honors.

Due to current CDC and State mandates, protective measures regarding social distancing, limited attendance capacity, and use of personal protective masks will be required for the visitation, funeral service, and graveside burial rite. Those remotely symptomatic of COVID-19 are politely asked not to attend.
