Obituary for Luciana Magallanez (Ybarra)

Luciana Magallanez, 97, of Luling, went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2021 at her home with loving family members around her. She was born October 17, 1923 in Mexico to Juan & Maria Sanchez Ybarra. On February 9, 1938 she married Apolonio Magallanez in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Martindale.

Luciana in survived by her daughter, Margaret Rangel of Luling. Daughter-in-law, Mary Helen Magallanez of Luling. Sons, Paul & Mary Magallanez of Palestine, and Gilbert & Mary Magallanez of Harwood. Twenty grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, & 12 great great grandchildren. Sister, Minga Montana of Luling.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, Santiago Magallanez, & Arturo Magallanez. Three sisters, 2 brothers, and grandson, Roland Magallanez.

Pallbearers are: Jerry Rangel, Jeffrey Magallanez, Jacob Magallanez, Jason Magallanez, Gilbert Magallanez, David Magallanez, & Armando Magallanez.

A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday February 27, at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father Howard Goertz officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Cemetery
