Obituary for Mary Etta Glenewinkel (Terrell)
Mary Etta Terrell Glenewinkel passed peacefully at age 98 years on February 24, 2024 surrounded by family.
Mary Etta was the third child of six and was born at her parent's home outside of the little town of Cistern, Texas. Her parents were Tommie and Edna Terrell. Mary lived in Cistern, Gander Slough and Kingsbury and graduated from Kingsbury High School in 1943
Mary was married to LRoy Glenewinkel for almost 55 years. During this time, she was a housewife, mother, grandmother, excellent seamstress, LVN nurse, IRS tax auditor in Austin, and lastly became an entrepreneur in 2002 opening Safe and Sound Storage.
She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Luling and rarely missed a Sunday.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents Tommie and Edna Terrell, husband, L.Roy Glenewinkel, sisters Lula Dunn, Lexie Knetsch, Emma Schenck, and brothers Ervin Terrell and Thomas Terrell.
She is survived by her daughters, Deanne Knox and husband Don of Weatherford, TX and Karen Via and husband Ronnie of Sealy, TX, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on March 22, 2024 at 2pm at Central Baptist Church with Brother Rick DuBroc of El Campo, Texas and Brother Bradley Mills of Luling officiating the service.
