Obituary for Pete Gonzales Eguia Jr.
In loving memory of Pete Eguia, Jr. who passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 51. Born on February 25, 1972, in Dallas, Texas, Pete later moved to Luling in 2016 and eventually settled in San Marcos, Texas, in 2022.
Pete was a charismatic individual who never met a stranger, always ready to engage in conversation. Known for his kindness, courage, fierceness, honesty, and selflessness, he possessed a unique and humorous spirit. Pete had a love for food, especially his mom's cooking.
He is survived by his mother, Trini Nandin; sisters, Rachel Eguia and Deborah Pesina; children, Candis Veliz and Jeremiah Gonzales; grandchildren, Marcos and Manuel; and a granddaughter, along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Pete is preceded in death by his father, Pete Eguia Sr., brother Simon Eguia, and sisters Maria and Belinda Eguia.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at O'Bannon Funeral Home. A burial ceremony will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the community cemetery, with Pastor Davis officiating.
