Our beloved Ricky John Ramirez 64 of Luling,TX was called to his forever home on Monday, October 4, 2021. Ricky passed away peacefully in his home after fighting a long battle with ALS.
Ricky was born on March 21, 1957 in Crockett, TX to Lela Dunn and John Ramirez, Ricky attended Crockett Jr. High where he played football and baseball. After high school, Ricky enlisted in the National Guard Army where he served 10 years as Sergeant First Class.
Ricky started his employment with Missouri Pacific Railroad, within time known as Union Pacific Railroad, where he continued to work for 18 years. During that time he met and married the love of his life Angie Hernandez in Tucker, TX on April 9, 1977, and were blessed with three loving children: Christy, Scotty, and Nicole.
Ricky was transferred to San Antonio Depot with the Union Pacific Railroad, but lived in Luling, TX with his family. Once retiring from the Union Pacific Railroad he continued to work throughout the years for pipeline companies, his final and longest being Centex Pipe and Equipment for 28 years.
Before becoming ill with diabetes and ALS, Ricky enjoyed hunting, fishing, barbecuing, watching football and baseball games, playing dominoes at the American Legion Post 177 where he was a member and officer, but the most important and what meant the most to Ricky was spending time with his loving family. Nothing meant more to him than that.

Ricky was preceded in death by his son Scotty Randall Ramirez, his father John Ramirez, his maternal grandparents Luther and Juanita Dunn of Tucker, Tx., and paternal grandparents Cedar and Sally Ramirez of Crockett, TX.

Ricky is survived by his wife of 44 years, Angie Ramirez, his daughters: Christy Ramirez of New Braunfels,TX., and Nicole Ramirez of Luling, TX., grandchildren: Keith Pullin Jr.(Maemie) of Luling, TX.,Catherine Pullin of New Braunfels, TX., Allison Pullin of Bryan, TX., Madison Ramirez of College Station, TX., Anthony, Serenity, and Christian Andrade all of Luling, TX., great-granddaughter Kessler Pullin of Luling, TX., Mother: Lela Lloreda of Diberville, MS., siblings: Ronijean Gilley of Diberville, MS., and Luther Ramirez of Crockett, TX., along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Last but not least, special friend Keith Pullin Sr. of Luling Tx.

Memorial Services with Veteran/Military Honors will be held at the American Legion Post 177 in Luling, Tx. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11 a.m. Food and visitation with family to follow.
