Robert “Bob” Folkes
Bob Folkes, 51 of Round Rock went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2022.
He was born December 24, 1970 in Atlanta, Georgia to Glenn and Jean Folkes.
After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as an Aviation Electronics Technician. After 20 years of service he retired then started and ran his own business, Northwest Computer and Network Solutions. After running his business for five years, he went on to work for National Instruments as a Principal Technician. He then furthered his career as a Software Engineer, beginning at Smile Direct Club as a Senior Software Engineer, then at Electronic Arts (EA) as a Software Engineer 3, and completed his career at BrainGu as a Principal Software Engineer. He loved all of his family. Most of all he loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Psalm 23 was his favorite Psalm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Jean Folkes, and two infant sisters.
Survivors are his wife Colleen Folkes of Round Rock. Son Nicholas LaQuet of Anacortes, WA, daughter and son-in-law Sarahjane and Christopher Rivera of Anacortes, WA, son Nelson LaQuet of Fremont, CA, daughter Rebecca Folkes of Seattle, WA. Grandchildren, Sarah Marie, Killian, James, and Arlo. Sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Dan Smith of Chandler, AZ. Brothers and sisters-in-laws, Ralph and Amelia Folkes of Pflugerville, Jerry and Kathi Iserhardt of Houston, and Gary and Tracy Iserhardt of Luling. Brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, Don and Andrea Marlow of Sedro Woolley, WA and Kevin and Melissa Devin of Bothell, WA. Aunt and Uncle, Elizabeth and Orman Gwynn of Robstown. Aunts, Shirley Folkes of Mustang Ridge, Ruth Olson of Monroe, WA, and Sandy Kirkpatrick of Snohomish, WA. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at McNeil Cemetery, with the Rev. Orman Gwynn officiating.
