Rosa La Fay Buie

Rosa La Fay (Price) Buie, age 88 of Luling, went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 5, 2021, at 10:06 am at Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center in Seguin, Texas.

She was born October 4,1932, the daughter of Marvin Troy Price and Ina La Fay (Rowley) Cox in Kokomo, Mississippi.

In 1950, she married Douglas F. Buie, Sr. in Biloxi, Mississippi. Since Doug served in the Air Force, they were stationed in many parts of the country. All four of their children were born in Texas.

Later years, Fay became an Activities Director for Cartwheel Lodge. She loved caring for the residents. Also, she was the Food Service Supervisor for E.B. Davis Memorial Hospital (now Seton). She is fondly remembered for her delicious hot rolls and beautifully decorated cakes. She became a Wilton’s Cake Decorating Instructor and was very proud of her students.

Fay was an ordained minister with The General Council of the Assemblies of God. She had a strong desire to lead others to the Lord and served faithfully in children’s ministries. Also, she was dedicated to sharing God’s word at chapel services in nursing homes. Throughout her life, she loved singing her favorite hymns. She served as a board member of the Luling Senior Citizens, the Ladies Auxiliary, and the Ministerial Alliance.

Fay is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, a brother, Stewart M. Cox, a son David Lee Buie, Doug Buie, Sr, and a granddaughter Linda Burkhalter.
