Obituary for Terry James Dekle

Terry James Dekle was born to Jim and Joan Dekle on October, 13th 1959 in Austin Texas. He attended and graduated from the DPS academy after marrying the love of his life, Dot, on May,16th 1981. They were married for 39 wonderful years.

For most of his career, he sold rebar and loved his job and clients. He thoroughly enjoyed making friends and working with them. His passion for the industry exposed his children to the same field, which has now resulted in the best work family, all thanks to Terry and his gift of friendship.

Dot and Terry welcomed their first son Ryan on April, 6th 1984. Their twin girls, Kelsie and Katelyn, were born October, 21, 1989. They welcomed their fourth child, and baby girl, Kenna on June, 30th 1997. His children were his absolute pride and joy. He taught them to work hard but more importantly, love fiercely. If you ever had the privilege to meet Terry, or as many call Papa Terry, you know he never met a stranger. He welcomed anyone and everyone into their home for any occasion; from Sunday Dinner to Christmas Eve, and everything in between.

Terry never stayed still for too long- one of his favorite ways to spend his downtime was competing in chili cook-offs and always made new friends and memories to last a lifetime. If not at a chili cook off you know he was trying to beat someone at a game of washers. He won many titles, but the title he was most proud of was PawPaw, to all of his Grandkids. Brett, Gavin, Mason, soon to be Parker, and all of his honorary grandchildren.
Words from some of his grandkids: What do you love most about PawPaw?
“I love PawPaw. He always bought the best trucks and made me laugh”
“He always had a treat for me and I loved that he would play with me”

Terry is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Joan Dekle, Brother Kenneth Dekle, his loving wife, Dot Dekle.
Terry is survived by his 4 children: Son, Ryan Dekle and wife, Rachel, and grandson Mason James Dekle of Spicewood, TX. Daughter, Kelsie Pipkin, husband David, and grandsons Brett and Gavin Pipkin of Lago Vista, TX. Daughter, Katelyn Lee, husband Derrick, and soon to be grandson Parker James Lee of Liberty Hill, TX. Daughter, Kenna Dekle of Lubbock, TX.
