Tommy Wayne Cooper of Leander, Texas went to heaven on January 31, 2023. Tommy was born April 9, 1962 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Robert J. and Patsy (Cummings) Cooper. He was a 1980 graduate of Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Oklahoma where he was active in FFA and a FFA State Farmer. He was united in marriage in Cleveland, OK to Rebecca (Becky) Ingalls on March 15, 1980. Tommy began his career in the ranching and farming industry. In 1989 Tommy and his family moved to Luling, TX to manage the Withers’ Ranch. He later worked at the Luling Foundation Farm. In 2000, Tommy began his career in law enforcement by working as a correctional officer for the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office. In 2004, Tommy obtained his peace officer’s license and was the livestock deputy for Caldwell County and later, Bastrop County. He then worked for San Patricio County Jail as a corrections officer and was currently employed by Burnet County Jail. Tommy loved his family and enjoyed all the time he spent with them. Tommy’s hobbies were fishing, wood working and keeping up with the livestock scene.
He is survived by his wife Becky, his loving daughters and son-in-laws, Bobbi and Matt Grantham of Luling, TX and Tiffany and Michael Collie of Rockport, TX. Tommy’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, Devin, Gavin and Lillie. His mother Patsy Cooper Goforth and sister Tanya and husband Bruce Tipling of Bixsby, OK. Sister-in-law Teresa Sima and brother-in-law David Sima of Cleveland, OK and his uncle, Kenny Cooper of Tulsa, OK. Four nieces, one nephew, three great nieces and one great nephew and his loyal Pomeranian companion, Abby. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Cooper, mother and father-in-law Bob and Ann Ingalls, grandparents Robert P. Cooper and Flora Cooper Cloud, Ralph and Nina Cummings.
