Obituary for Vicky Lynn Bell (Bell)

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, Vicky Lynn Bell passed away at the age of 63 after a long battle with COPD. Vicky was born on August 22, 1958 to parents Linda Cameron Bell Rowan and Roger Bell in Luling, Texas. She was raised by her stepfather, Melville T. Rowan, Jr., whom she called Dad. Vicky lived in many places as a child and an adult, but ultimately came home to Luling in 1985.

Vicky was a homemaker but spent time volunteering in the gift shop at Edgar B. Davis hospital. She was the eldest of many siblings and was known as the cool cousin. Life wasn’t always easy for Vicky, but she took the time to check on others and provide an encouraging word when she could. Vicky never forgot a birthday despite how large the family got. She was a compassionate giver and could be relied upon to give you her last dollar if you needed it. She encouraged the best in others and was always pleased to celebrate her family’s successes. She will be deeply and sorely missed.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents Linda and Mel Rowan, father Roger Bell, brother Melville T. Rowan, III, sister Patty Rowan Stephens, and nephews Justin Murray and Jonathan Stephens.
She is survived by partner, Mark Powell of Luling, sons Gary Bell (Amy) of Dripping Springs, Christopher Gonzalez of Montgomery, daughter Stephanie Powell of Luling, grandchildren Chase Bell, Abby Bell, Tate Bell, Trinity Powell, and Riley Powell, siblings Tim Rowan (Jamie) of Lockhart, Cathy Rowan and Tiffany Rowan of Luling, Kenneth Bell (Susan), and Justin J. Bell of Madisonville, TN, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by beloved friend and stepmother Jackie Bell of Madisonville, TN.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Luling Bible Church, 127 Blanco Street, Luling, TX 78648.
