Warren Leon Lay, 83, of Lockhart/Luling, Texas, died Thursday, May 18, 2023.
He was born October 10, 1939, in Seguin, Texas. He was the son of the late
Johnnie Daniel Lay and Lonie Estelle Giesick. He is preceded in death by his
spouse, Carolyn Dietz Lay; his daughter, Susan Carole Lay; his parents; his
sister, Gloria Estelle Lay Eddleton and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his sons, Warren R. Lay and wife Kimberly, of Lockhart,
Leonard Lay and wife Laurie, of Lockhart; his brother, Johnnie Lay, of Lockhart;
his sister, Barbara Miles, of Lockhart; grandchildren, Jennie Freeman and
husband Justin, Sara Lay, Logan Lay, Lauren Lay and Luke Lay; one
great-grandchild, Kendall Freeman.
Warren “Leon” Lay worked as a licensed operator in the oil business, running his
own oil wells. Hobbies included fishing, bbqing, fish frys, morning breakfast with
friends and playing dominoes. Most of all, he loved God and his family.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at O’Bannon
Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday, May 23rd at 10:00 AM at the O’Bannon
Funeral Home located at 210 S. Laurel St. in Luling, Texas. Intermittent following
the service at Luling City Cemetery at 1500 E Pierce St. Luling, Texas.
