Obituary for Wesley Boyd Maxwell
Wesley Boyd Maxwell, 67 of Luling, passed away in Luling on August 19, 2023. Boyd was born in San Angelo, TX on March 2, 1956 to Eunice and Ed Maxwell. He attended Central High School in San Angelo.
He started working at Southwestern Welding Supply in San Angelo when he was 18 and was there until he was 27. He was with Farm Bureau Insurance from 1986-2000 in Tyler, Pittsburg, Gilmer and Lockhart, TX. In 2000 he went independent starting Boyd Maxwell Insurance in Luling, TX. He retired in 2022.
When their kids were young, he enjoyed coaching softball and baseball. He loved to fish and hunt with his children and grandchildren. His passion was gardening, he loved to see the garden grow and then the enjoyment of sharing his harvest with family and friends.
Boyd is survived by his loving wife Ardis of 47 years, daughter Merritt (Jim) Grogan, son Shane Maxwell (Tiffany Ivey), grandchildren, Bryce, Preslee, Belle Grogan, Hudson and Sophia Ivey, brother Ed Maxwell, niece, Nicole (Jason) Schwertner, nephews Richard (Shannon) Russell and Wesley Russell and other loving family members and friends.
He was predeceased in death by his parents and sister Chris Russell.
Memorial services will be held at Obannon Funeral Home in Luling, TX on Saturday August 26, 2023 from 10-12.
Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Kingsbury Baptist Church.
